The Western United F.C. Developmental Program is open to all girls and boys between the ages of 5 and 10 who aspire to be part of the Western United F.C. tradition of excellence in premier soccer.

Purpose and Goals:

  • Develop technically sound players who can function at the highest levels of play
  • Provide an environment where player confidence, creativity, and individual ability flourish
  • Introduce team concepts and further team development
  • Expose players to their talented peers and grow together
  • Have FUN learning and playing the "beautiful game"!

Program Setup:

As a club we are always trying to improve and better serve the players in our program. This year we have a new look to our developmental program to better meet each player’s individual needs. Our new setup offers various options on tiered levels in order to individualize players’ trainings and allow various levels of commitment.

Option 1: Training Only

  • 10 week training sessions with minimum of 2 trainings per week; players may attend as many sessions as they would like
  • Training sessions based on a developmentally appropriate curriculum and supervised by Western United F.C. coaches
  • Weekly training in two locations— one in the north and one in the south —through fall, winter and spring
  • Opportunities for intraclub and interclub play dates in fall and spring (on Saturday mornings before PVJSL games)
  • A Western United F.C. training shirt
  • Player evaluation after every season by Staff
  • Speed and agility training 6 weeks each spring and fall
  • Will be divided into following groups: U10B, U10G, U9B, U9G, U5-U8 coed
This option is for players that cannot or do not wish to make a full year commitment or a commitment to playing in games each weekend in the fall and spring.

Option 2: League Play (U10/U9 only)

Our club is very excited about joining New England Premiership (NEP). The New England Premiership (NEP) is a new Club-based league for clubs throughout New England focused on player development. Participation is limited to clubs with a demonstrated commitment to player development such as minimum licenses for coaches, minimum standards for facilities and a dedicated Director of Coaching with a minimum of a USSF B license.

Some other clubs that have been accepted include to NEP are Scorpions, NEFC, MPS, Seacoast United, and FC Greater Boston Bolts.
