Roy Fink is in his second year coaching for Western United. He currently runs the popular Western technique clinics. Roy is in his fourth year as an assistant for the UMASS men’s program.
- UMASS is Roy’s second collegiate coaching position after serving as assistant coach for his alma mater U Tampa from 2003-04. He has a wealth of coaching experience outside the collegiate realm most notably as the Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Trainer for the Colorado Rapids U-23 team, as the Director of Coaching and Club Trainer for the Strictly Soccer Futbol Club (Tampa), and as the Club Coach for the Tampa Knights (RSL Florida).
- Roy had an outstanding collegiate career at the University of Tampa where he was the 2001 NSCAA Division II National Player of the Year after leading the Spartans to the National Championship Title. A two-time NSCAA All-America selection (2000, 2001), Roy still ranks third overall in career goal scoring at Tampa and ranks seventh all-time for career goals by a player in the Sunshine State Conference. In conference play, Roy was a four-time all-league selection earning Player of the Year honors in 2001 and Rookie of the Year honors in 2000. He was also a four-time NSCAA All-South Region honoree and was named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-District Second Team. From his sophomore to his senior seasons, he served as team captain. Along with his collegiate playing experience, Fink also spent three seasons in the PDL for the Cape Cod Crusaders (2001) and the Boulder Rapids (2002, 2003).
- Roy currently has his USSF "A" National Coaching License (2009); the NSCAA National, Advanced National Coaching Diploma (2007, 2008), and a NSCAA State Goalkeeping Diploma (Level I) (2007). He also holds Level I (2008) certificates from the English Football Association for Fitness in Football and Psychology for Football. In 2006, Fink completed his MBA from the University of Tampa.
